~Hi there, I'm Mariah
Welcome to Salt+Light~
I was born and raised in Minnesota, but my husband and I sunk our roots here in Northern Idaho just over two years ago. By day I'm a paraprofessional at a small Expeditionary Learning School, and by night I'm a striving birth professional; working towards my certification as both a birth doula and birth educator.
My passion lies in encouraging mommas to seek the Lord not only within their daily lives, but especially during pregnancy and birth. He not only is the Creator and Giver of Life, but if He has called you to motherhood, you can trust that He’ll be there to help you through it.
Learning a few fun facts about others always helps me get to know them better, so I thought I'd share a few of mine with you.
Coffee is my morning vice- not the plain hot bean water, I'm talking frothy half-n-half with a sweet syrup. I'm always up for a get together at a local coffee shop- good conversation always happens with a warm drink.
God has my heart and I'm always asking the Holy Spirit to lead my conversations with others. I want to truly understand and get to know you and develop relationships built on compassion, trust, and friendship because quality time is my love language.
I’m married to a wonderful man, Kyle. He’s a big time hunter and we love to camp and do all the outdoor things.
I love thrifting. On occasion I’ll spend the day hopping from thrift store to thrift store finding the best things. I definitely think they should start doing punch cards.
Wine is my evening vice. Red or white, but not too sweet. I’ve always got a bottle or two on hand.
My fabric stash is getting quite large which only means my sewing machine has some work to do! I love sewing things for people. I get so much joy from creating something useful and knowing that lots of love has been woven into it and now it’s in the hands of someone that means so much to me.
The sleepy brown fur ball in the photo below is our chocolate lab, Mac. She’s a character, just like any human, and is only snuggly when she’s exhausted.
I love all things baby, birth, and motherhood but you could’ve guessed that.
